lumilink features internationally patented technology that integrates strobes into the Marelux optical wireless control system.
In traditional underwater photography, pressing the camera shutter sends an electrical signal to the internal flash trigger. This trigger converts the pulse into an optical signal, transmitting light through the housing’s fiber optic ports directly to tethered strobes. Marelux revolutionizes this workflow by allowing users to mount an external optical transmitter—such as the Lumilink, outside the housing via a short fiber optic cable, or install directly onto marelux housing fiber port,. Upon receiving the camera’s flash signal, lumilink repeats and broadcasts a powerful, encrypted blue light signal across a wide beam angle of 160 degrees.
Marelux Apollo III, S, and X strobes natively receive this encrypted signal for delay-free wireless firing at sync speeds up to 1/200s,
other strobe brands lack this remote capability. The Terminal Flash Repeater bridges this gap. Featuring a compact profile similar to the Lumilink, it utilizes dual fisheye dome sensors to capture and decode the encrypted wireless trigger signal. It then instantly outputs a standard high-intensity optical pulse through its fiber output port. By linking this output port to any third-party strobe via a fiber optic cable, photographers can fully integrate legacy gear into the advanced Marelux wireless triggering ecosystem.
